I delivered the flyers today to all the Combs schools. I am so excited that we will be practicing in Queen Creek this year. We will be at the Combs/Gantzel campus. We have lights that have been donated too! Even though Ben and I aren't on the board anymore, it is in our best interest to do what we can to help get this area going. So, Ben has been very busy. I have been talking it up to everyone I know (besides passing out the flyers, that's my best help right now). I even told Ben that if we could get practice out here, that I would continue to be the business manager for our team.
In a nutshell, Pop Warner cheer and football is for kids ages 5-15. We have tackle and flag football teams and cheer squads. We make our boundaries geographical so that it is a little more "fair" or "balanced." Our league is run by a wonderful board who only have the best interest of the kids in mind. Pop Warner is also a scholar program, where we reward kids for getting good grades. We have a banquet at the end of the season and each child is recognized for their excellence at school and their name is put into a raffle for some great prizes. As they get older, they actually qualify for scholarships on a national level. It is one of the best programs that our family supports and we love it. Our team, the Hornets, even has mentors, and throughout the season, they break from football and talk about character, schoolwork, values, etc.
We have made so many friends over the years through volunteering. I know it takes a lot of our time and effort, and at the end of the season, I am exhausted, but always glad I did it. I look forward to the season starting every year. I look forward to it this year even more since neither of us are on the board and our Saturdays are more free!!! If you want more info, just ask me. I'll get you a flyer.

I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work... we played two seasons ago and it was a very hard trial for our family in many ways, But we made it thru. We are excited that there is now a local organization to go to... and even more so... without sounding biased of course.. to hear that many of the coaches for our area are active church members!1 Bonus!!!!
Looking forward to the start of a new season!!! Many thanks to you and yours...
Jess and family..
