"We cannont change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." - Randy Pausch
So, I set a goal yesterday to read more than 10 books this year. I only read 10 last year and I think 5 of them were textbooks for school. While that is no big deal, I want to read more just for myself, not because I have to. So, yesterday I started The Last Lecture, by Randy Pausch. You may have heard of him. He was a professor at Carnegie Mellon when he found out he had pancreatic cancer. Anyway, it is a story of how he lived his life after finding out about his cancer.
Mom and I were having a conversation about this very subject last weekend, so it was perfect timing that I read this book. Let me add that it is a quick read. I started at noon and finished about 8pm, reading on and off all day. Short chapters, phenomenal story. I suggest it to anyone. If you want to borrow mine, it is now available.

I'd love to borrow it! I've seen a little about him, and heard a little in the news, but have not read the book. :)
Cool! I'll have to look for it. I looked over my list and realized I read over 50 books last year. Whoa! I guess that is what happens when you don't have babies to take care of.
That is the best book ever. His attitude was amazing and I learned so much from him.
I just finished it about 5 minutes ago. I loved it too!
Wow, that's so funny that that is the quote that i found (and needed) today. Not funny, but cool. I would love to borrow your book if you've still got it. Sounds like an awesome read.
