I've never really liked Halloween. I don't particularly like things that are scary or ugly, and especially any holiday to celebrate The Day of the Dead. Anywho, I still let my kids dress up and I like to dress up too. Oh yeah, I dislike teenagers that come to my door and trick or treat. I don't care if you dress up and have a party or hang out, but don't come to my door asking for treats. I won't give them to you.
But, with money tight the way it is, I wondered if anyone had any costumes they were willing to trade for. I'll let you know that I'm looking for a baby bee costume. Actually, I'd like to borrow this one for the remainder of the football season since we're the Hornets, I figure it would work double duty to keep her warm and support the team. Anny is about a 6 month size, probably 15 pounds or so.
I have lots of accessories and costumes I am willing to trade out - mouse ears and tail, wedding veil and bouquet (it's getting old, but you can fix it up easy), dinosaur, tiger, elephant, and more. Some are homemade and some are store bought. Let me know if you are interested.

I echo the same feelings. Nice to know I'm not alone. I wish we could just skip over this holiday.
We have a green fluffy caterpiller costume about size 5 and a dress that would look like it came from the "Oklahoma" musical that would probably fit Marly. The other costumes are ones we just make usually the weekend before... I'm heading to Goodwill this afternoon to see what we can come up with this year. Good Luck!
I don't have a bee, but I do have Addie's little monkey costume from last year.

I don't have a bee costume, but I was just thinking about how cute your kids looked dressed up as the breakfast foods a year or two ago.
I don't have a bee costume but I do have a cute tu-tu devil costume with a tail and horns that fits babies. You may remember Ella wearing it.
I loved eggs and toast from a few years ago. I tried to get someone to be a pancake this year, but to no avail. I also have some boxes that would make a perfect fish tank costume (Vance did that one year) if anyone is interested.
Marly wants to be abstract art so she is already working on her own costume.
Tawny wants to be an indian - I think my sister might have a costume for that.
Jen - Let me know if your youngest wants to be a pink crayon, I have the cutest homemade costume - it is the best one I think I ever made.
I so wish I lived close by. I refuse to be creative or "make" anything for Halloween this year. Store-bought or recycled all the way:) I know with all those kiddos you'd have somethin I could use! I must miss you-you were in part of my dream last night. I think I dream about friends when I've been thinking about them. Love to your family...
Halloween is my least favorite holiday. It doesn't even make sense to me. I wish I could help you out with the whole costume thing. I don't have a good suppply of costumes yet. I loved reading up on your blog.
I actually do have a bee costume about that size. I'll have to figure out what I did with it and track it down.
I have a bee costume as well - but it is 24 months. LEt me know if you want to try it out.
