I might have overdone it on the 4th:)

Fry's is open!! I didn't know that. Jana and I got up early to avoid the crowds. I woke about 5:30, fed Anny, and by 6:10, Jana and I were on our way to get groceries!! I don't know why I was so excited about it, but I was.

By 8am, we were at the park for the 3rd annual Castlegate morning 4th of July breakfast celebration at the park. The kids decorated the golf cart and were the head of the parade. It was the first time we had taken Anny out for everyone to see. She was adorable in her little red outfit with matching headband, thanks to Jana and Dodge Chapman.

I caught a 20 minute nap later in the morning before Marly and I headed to Phoenix Children's Hospital to visit with McKinzie Peterson. We took Anny with us and McKinzie was delighted to see us. She knew who we were but had a hard time verbalizing our names. We talked a little, went for a walk and got some ice cream, visited some more, then we had to leave. I asked Josh if I could post a picture for everyone to see. She looks wonderful!! She is able to walk with help from her dad to get to her wheelchair, she sits up so tall. She laughs, she plays, she tries hard. Her right side is still considerably weak, but she will probably be ambidextrous by the time she finishes with therapy. She doesn't move her right arm much and she has a crooked smile, but she is McKinzie through and through. I can't wait for her to get better so she can be on our softball team next year! I have every faith that she can do it.

We dashed home and made homemade ice cream for our 4th of July party later. We enjoyed a BBQ dinner at Allison's house with the Simmons and Whettens before heading over to Coach Jeff's house for fireworks. I didn't stay for the fireworks as I was feeling so tired from all the day's activities. I watched the fireworks on channel 5 from Tempe Town Lake and as soon as the kids got home with Ben, I fell asleep. It is hard to believe that I slept until about 11am Saturday morning, in between feeding Anny.
