Lots to catch up on: Easter Campout

Easter campout: Our family went up to Roosevelt Lake minus Drew who was on his first scout campout. We took what we jokingly refer to as "the rolling turd." It is in the shop as we speak so that it doesn't take 4 people to pop it up anymore. It is really an awesome camper that we got for super cheap last summer and we fixed it up to sleep all 8 of us comfortably. It was cold so Ben bought a portable heater that he calls his "buddy." We made fun of him for that. We took our old 72 hour kids and ate what was edible (not much) for dinner on Friday night. Let's just say that even though they were sealed up, the jerky was rock hard, the juice was rancid, and the gum not so chewy. The ramen and oatmeal was great. No worries on the jolly ranchers, they were fine. We'd survive, but not for long if we had to live on them. I'm glad we make new ones every year. We took the boat and Vance borrowed a wet suit so he could wake board. He did a great job and with the suit, he wasn't even cold. Of course, I was freezing up on the boat with my jacket hood tied tightly around my ears. It was a truly lovely weekend. We only stayed one day and came home. The boat ran wonderfully.
