I ran a 10K - 18 weeks pregnant!!
3 years ago, Vance ran the 10K at London's Run. I went to support him and cheer on him and my good friend Darcey, as she ran the 1/2 marathon. I remember standing there at registration and someone asking me if I was running. I had to say no because I was still recovering from my ankle shattering, repelling outing months before. At that point, I was still limping and it had been 9 months. I told myself that someday I would be able to join. Well, another year went by and still I couldn't run. One more surgery that would turn me around and take away my limp, but still my Dr. said I would never be able to run again. Vance ran in the 2nd annual London's Run and won the 10K for his age group. I said, "next year, I'll run with you." His reply, "yeah, right, you couldn't even finish." I'm sure he said it in love...but with that comment and the Doctor's lack of faith, I decided that I would do it. I started training for the triathalon that Ben and I did last June. Realize now, that I had just swam 1000 meters, then biked 14 miles (a lot of hills too), then I ran a 5K, averaging 15 minutes per mile. I know that is slow, but consider what I had just accomplished?!?! So, now I'm pregnant and running the 10K in the 3rd annual London's Run and guess what? I did finish!!! And my miles were just about 12 minutes!!! I'm no half marathoner like Alys, Cresta, Kathleen, Rachel and Stacia, but I did run with Amelia and Wendy in the 10K. These are all ladies in my Ragnar Relay group and I am so fortunate to be associated with them. In addition, the Johnson Fabulous Five ran too. Vance, Marly, Drew, and I ran the 10K and Skylar did the 2 mile run. Ben would have come and run with Katy, but Tawny is still running a fever and so he had to stay home. Next year, be ready for the Johnson Narly Nine!!! That's right, barring any illnesses next year, and Ben pushing a 7 month old in the stroller, we'll be there, for sure.

That is so awesome!!! Congratulations!!
All we need is a little motivation, right!? Proving people wrong is the best kind.
Great job!
I vividly remember last year you saying that you would run it next year - you did it! way to go!!
Once again the fearless Stacy! Congratulations!
Good for you. Next year you can run two 10Ks. One for you and one for me.
Aren't we grateful for doctors who say we can't do things? Good job!
You are awesome! I can't run because of a herniated disc in my back. Too painful still. You are an inspiration to coming back from injury. Congrats!
