What's going on around here?

Meet Dodge, or Dodgee as Anny calls him.  Dodge is my neighbor, but he is like family, basically their whole family is, but nobody is at home here more than this kid.  He is here all the time and believe it or not, I love it.  He plays with Anny and Derek sometimes, he thinks Skylar is his best friend, and when nobody else is available, he hangs out with me.  His dad gave him this awesome haircut and he gets to keep it until Saturday when it gets shaved off.  He got baptized last Saturday and we are so lucky he invited us on his special day.  We love Dodge.
Katy, Drew, and Skylar are all involved in Sting Speed and Strength camp over at QCHS.  Coach
Workman works them hard, teaching them how to run correctly, putting them through drills to improve flexibility, technique, and strength.  The kids love it, but it is really hard work.  Here is Katy, pushing the golf cart uphill.  You think that is easy?  Come and sit in on one session and you'll see it's not.  They get a t-shirt as part of the camp, this year it has on the back "Run Like A Workman."  We love Coach Workman.
One of our most favorite activities is free lunch and free breakfast.  We tried them both and they are super yummy school lunches for free.  I do have to drive a few miles, but it is worth it.  The selection is great, the food is palatable, and it is free.  I put as many kids in my car with me as possible.  What I love about it is that I get to visit with my good friends while the kids eat...for free.  Did I mention that even Derek gets a meal?  Yes, every child under age 18.  I just eat his and feed him later though.  Sneaky, right?  Well, I asked and they said it was fine.  If adults want to eat, it is $2.
Anny enjoying an orange.
Derek enjoying his fingers.
After they are done eating, they play on the "monkey bars."  Don't worry, I told them to be careful.
Today was pizza, but we have had spicy chicken sandwiches, bbq rib sandwiches, tuna, PB&J, lots of main dish choices.  We also get to choose from lots of fruits and veggies, chocolate milk, white milk, and juice.  Way better than cooking and except for throwing away the garbage, there is no mess for us to clean up!!  For breakfast, there was waffles, pop tarts, donuts, fresh fruit, cereal, and drinks.  Yummy.
After we got home from lunch today, I asked everyone to read.  And they did, for at least 1/2 hour.  Katy and Tawny are still reading and it has been almost an hour.  I don't want to jinx it, but I am so happy.  Even Dodge is reading...it is a book on origami, but who cares?  And, bonus...Derek and Anny are both asleep.

That's so funny because yesterday at the movie theater I saw this kid that looked like Dodge with a mowhawk and was like no that can't be Dodge because he doesn't have a mowhak. Maybe it was him after all.

I love Dodges hair cut! Your kids are too cute Stacy. I wonder if our school does free lunch, maybe we'll have to look into that!
