Things I loved about today

Drew got up earlier than usual so he could make breakfast for the girls because Ben had a meeting at 6am and I was on my own getting 8 kids ready for church...AND, I took 7 of them to a missionary farewell in Mesa and had to leave by 7:15.  I only missed the mark by 5 minutes.  Patting myself on the back right now.

We re-instituted the no t.v. rule on Sunday and the peace was so much nicer than the arguing.

The little girls played with Anny and kept her happy most of the day.

Ben made a yummy crock pot roast for dinner complete with homemade gravy, Drew made the salad (he's quite the chef today), Katy made the jello, Marly set the table, Katy emptied the dishwasher, Tawny cleared and wiped the table and counters, and Vance did the dishes...I did nothing to help.

I got a lot of homework done for my family history class (the only class I study for on Sunday), and made some awesome discoveries.  I shall post them on my new blog when I get around to it.

We got to go to the girl's camp kick off and I didn't cry that I'm not going as a leader. (I'll find a way to weazle into camp somehow, even if just for a few hours.)

I got a lot of scripture reading done in my quest to read the Book of Mormon in less than 12 weeks.

I had a diet pepsi and even though I lost points in the wellness challenge...I didn't care or feel guilty.

I failed to mention that I do love going to church:) I enjoy feeling the spirit, it's like a hug from Heavenly Father, telling me I'm doing all right.

And, to hear Mikey talk was awesome, he's so grown up now.

That does sound like a near perfect day. You are a good Mom and your kids are pretty great too. A Mother of 8 being 5 minutes late to church is amazing.

You SHOULD pat yourself on the back. Not just for getting to church on time (5 minutes is totally not late!) but for everything else you do. I know you and you are incredible pretty much every day. Miss you:(
