Me and 1500 of my closest football friends

Rain was not my friend for about 20 minutes lastnight. Why did it have to do that right as Creekfest was getting under way? Had it rained the 20 minutes prior, I would have been all right. As it was, I got soaked but stayed cool the whole evening. Glad I wasn't wearing a white shirt that's for sure.
The jumpy rides were great - had we had people manning their stations, it would have been better, but I can't complain about it too much. The kids had a blast and playing on them in the rain was a total bonus for them. If I wasn't prego, I would have gotten on them and played myself.
Our food vendors did awesome. They raised all kinds of money and all I had to do was collect my rental fee and be done. Kudos to my friends at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union who came and sold Papa John's pizza. Too bad we underestimated the numbers or they wouldn't have been standing around so much all night waiting for pizza to be delivered. Who knew we would have gone through it so quickly?
My other vendors didn't fare so well, but they all said it was close to worth it had the rental fee not been quite so much. I want them to know that I have made note of it and there will be changes for next year.
It was nice to have so much security there from the Sherriff's office, but it was a little overboard. They did hand out stickers and stuff to the kids so that was nice. They really just made me nervous with all their standing around. Geesh, I had it under control people.
And, the person who was supposed to spearhead this whole deal (who basically stole it out from under me at a meeting I did not attend) who was going to make the whole event larger than life...never even showed up. That's right. Except for the Coke sponsorship, everything else the guy planned, totally fell apart this week and our board had to scramble to save things. Fortunately, we are all capable of pulling up the slack. So, next year, if I'm in charge, it will be a little more organized, a little more clear to everyone what their assignments are and everyone will know who is in charge...
Pictures to come...maybe tomorrow when I have time to recover.
