Eagle Court

So Vance had his Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday night. If you know Vance, he is a man of few words. He didn't want to talk and he didn't want people to talk too long - or too much about him. It went perfeclty, I think. I wish he could have been a little more talkative when he gave his mentor pin. He loves Bro. Schaub, even if all he said was he's more of a friend than a leader and he went on every scout outing Vance went on. Vance has been very fortunate to have some awesome leaders and I'm so grateful for everyone who participated on the program. I know that a few years from now, Vance will be on his mission and he will write me a letter and tell me how grateful he is that we "encouraged" him to finish his eagle and that I put together the Court of Honor for him. I always have to add that this mama did not "do" this eagle project, nor did his dad or his leaders. Did we encourage? Instruct? Suggest? Yes. But, that is what parents do. I have to encourage, instruct, and suggest he takes out the garbage every single day too. What is your point? He organized, made the calls, hauled the supplies, and made all arrangements by himself. He is quite a guy. So, his cheesy mom made this video because she loves him. I am by no means a video maker professional, so bear with me. Vance, I love you. (If you want to watch this, pause the playlist on the right so you can hear the music.)

From one cheesy mom to another, that was so fun to watch. Even though these boys may not appreciate these sentimental things right now, they sure will when they're adults and get to show them to their kids. Thank heaven for the good boys that we have!!

Oh what a great idea!!!! I loved it and you did a gret job. I also liked that you pointed out the fact that you have to encourage him to take out the trash as well - good analogy. You are a great Mom!

I knew what he meant. I love that kid. It is an honor to have served with such a honorable priesthood holder. I look forward to our continued friendship. I just hope all the other boys can follow his example.

Congratulations Vance! What a great accomplishment! Great slideshow Stac. It was fun to see pics of Vance from how we remember him-too young to be driving and dating:) I love the beautiful picture of your family at the end.

Congrats to Vance!!! I can't believe our kids are getting that old. I get to hear bits and pieces about how "awesome" Vance is through the Young Women in my Ward. :)

Here's to cheesy moms everywhere! The world needs all moms to be cheesy.

Congrats Vance! I know what being married to an Eagle Scout has done for our family and I know Vance will bring his Eagle Scout experiences into everything he does in the future.

That is really cool! I like the video. Tyler starts scouts in January. It will just be a few years and we will be at this point. Ahhh!
