I know I'm not the only one bugged about this, but my gas tank was right at half full (the big van) when I went to fill it up for the cub scouts to take to day camp. I can't believe that I spent $75 on a HALF TANK OF GAS!!! I'm glad we really only drive it to church now since all 8 of us rarely go anywhere together. I can't imagine what the cost of gas was for the Super Activity with the Priests/Teachers Quorum last week. I'm glad they were able to take one vehicle, at least.
In similar news, I also can't believe I've spent $88 in two weeks on my little car!! You will see me on my golf cart more as the prices go up. I may have to find a carpool to the grocery store soon, anyone else in? I can't wait for the new Fry's to open, but I fear that if I drive the golf cart there, my ice cream will melt before I get home:)

I hear ya. We're gonna have to take out a bank loan if Dale and I ever want to go visit our family in Mesa again.
Just tonight my friend, Holly and I were discussing car pooling to the grocery store from now on. Totally serious. I think it is a fantastic idea.
I think about you and the others living WAY out there. Fortunately the Target and Walmart are open reasonably close. I am grateful to be so close to everything now, but it still adds up. One thing it is doing is making it I plan my trips to the stores and that is saving us in our food budget! They were talking on the news the other day saying we could see $6/gallon at Christmas time!!!
No kidding! Seriously if Josh didn't get a gas card from work he wouldn't have a job!
It's a very sad thing...and the thing is we all keep buying it?! I wish there was another way...but the oil companies know we will always need gas, so they keep raising the prices. I think that is what bothers me most!
My father in-law was in town last weekend and while following him to my sister in-laws house in Scottsdale (ouch) I pulled in behind him at the gas station. His whole intention was to fill up my gas tank. I was so excited. I think he probably thought I was nuts. I was so thankful. I don't think my gas tank has been full in several months.
I saw on Fox News Channel that there are riots in Europe and Indonesia over high gas prices so it is not just the USA that has this problem. They have different oil companies in their countries, so the high prices must be from the original suppliers in the middle east. NOT our local US oil companies.
I'm thinking I may have to borrow my kids scooter to go visiting teaching. ;-)
SERIOUSLY....I am now OFFICIALLY a home body. But still it is about $100 every 5 days even parked I swear! Beats being squished in the car though! We need to carpool :)
I have to agree with everyone here! Dido to it all!!It makes me frusterated to no end. I just dont see how they can do this to us. I did hear something interesting the other day tho, dont know how true it is.. Between Bush Jr. and Bush Sr. they own 63% of texaco. Now I have always been a Bush supporter but if that is true I am very dissapointed at that. They could control this if they wanted to...
hey sis. johnson, i was wondering if i could borrow your van? you see my little honda civic gets such good gas mileage, that i thought i should do my share at contributing to carbon emissions!
my radical mind still thinks they are raising gas prices on purpose so that we all won't have such a hissy fit when they start digging up alaska. people wont care if they are destroying beautiful land and wiping out ecosystems if it means they can pay less than $2/gallon instead of $6.
geez, its 2008 already, where's my flying car!
So I heard you had your baby! Congrats! I want to see some pics!!!
