The Osmonds

Did you see Oprah today? I rarely watch her, unless it is something positive and uplifting, and I don't follow the celebrity stuff usually, but I do love the Osmonds. There was 125 of the family there, I don't know if I have the details, but of the 9 children, there is about 50 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. Obviously, there were lots of spouses there too. It was so neat to see all of the siblings together. Marie sang Paper Roses and Donny sang Puppy Love. The brothers sang too, including Jimmy (I was totally in love with him). I cried (happy tears) through the whole thing, it was so fun to sing the words to all those old songs. Oh, the good old days watching the Donny and Marie show. Why can't we have that kind of good, clean, entertainment these days? And, I'd like to add that I hope I am that beautiful and active when I am 48 years old.

I caught the tail end of this and LOVED it! They all have that great, genuine smile and twinkle in their eyes. But Stacy - you're dating yourself, the Donnie & Marie show wasn't around when I was growing up!

We don't get television....do you happen to have a copy of it that I could watch? I watched a little on Oprah.com and would love to see the whole show. That after show performance by the grandsons was very moving!!

I didn't see it yet but I'm sure my fabulous TiVo has it waiting for me. I don't remember the show but I had a basset hound growing up named Mort (this is when we lived in Provo.) He was actually on the show one time. I think he was a witness in a courtroom skit.

I watched a little of it with my dad. I thought it was hilarious how all of the ladies were screaming like teenagers. They were having flashbacks to their Tiger Beat days.

I was looking forward to watching it and I totally missed it. I was so sad. Sounds like it would have been a fun one to see. I can't believe how many Osmonds are running around!! LOL.

I thought it was a great show too. I loved how they talked so much about feeling their dad's spirit there with them , and about their dad's legacy.

I wish I could have taped it, but I don't even know how to watch movies on my VCR half the time. Find someone with TIVO, maybe they'll let you come over. I wonder if someone can make a copy of it from their TIVO and put it on a DVD? I don't know how that stuff works. I sure would have loved to see the after show. How do you watch that?

It is true. Michelle and I would listen to records of Donny singing when he was what....10? I love Marie's stuff from the 80's 90's, too. Good times. Good records.

Well, Donny Whetten used to have to sing the Donny Osmond parts when we played at our house since he was the only boy. I bet he knows more of the words than he'd like to admit. At least when he was little he did.

Hmmm....maybe I can get him to sing some sweet tunes with me today....
